Note that this is an agreement between the original owner of the MLK building, which was AAA, and the Meridian St. Preservation Commission. The agreement resulted from an initiative pushed by a number of Tarkington Tower activists and Tarkington Tower neighbors when the possibility of the purchase by MLK became known. The agreement cleared the way for a zoning variance that then allowed the sale to go through. If I have my information correct (no guarantee) there were some 52% of TT residents and 8 Meridian St Foundation members and neighbors, the activists, involved in the initiative. This covenant outlines what is and isn't permissible on the property.
