Trolly Replacement

The attached file (see the download button) is a "pdf" file that contains a drawing from Crane 1 (engineering firm) that was provided during the 07-2014 Board meeting.

This is a significant maintenance item as new trolleys had to be designed and manufactured specifically for our building.  The trolleys fit into a track that is integral to the building and is what the window washers hook up to for their scaffold.  The window washing company called our attention to the trolleys because the company believe they were so worn and rusted that they were dangerous for their staff and they refused to wash our windows until these were replaced.

Four trolleys were manufactured for Tarkington Tower, which is fewer than there were originally.  It was determined that with a small change to the track we could get by with fewer, saving our Home Owners Association significant maintenance dollars.

The picture below shows the condition of a couple of the old trolleys.

Spring of 2014 - Pool Area Rennovations

As you all know we had a serious rennovation of the pool area.  The old cracked and worn pool deck was dug up, the area graded and concrete for the new pool deck was poured.

Since I own a "J" unit I had a birds eye view of all the activity and I took advantage of that view to memorialize the activity.  If you're interested in the day by day progress, well you are in luck.

The pictures (click on the thumbnail picture) were taken each day there was either significant progress or when there was something interesting going on.  If you go through the pictures you'll even get to see Debbie and Tony raising heck with the contractor.  Enjoy.

The Art of Taylor Smith

The exhibit took place on May 9th, 2014 from 5:30 to 78:00 pm.

In addition to the wonderful art guests enjoyed wine, cheese and interaction with the artist. The artist has graciously allowed her art to remain for a while for all to enjoy, until the first week of July.

The pictures (click on the thumbnail picture) highlight the guests and the art. The pictures were taken by our resident professional photographer and yours truly.  fyi: Linda's shots were better than mine.
